Rebrand
Statoil was one of the world’s most dynamic and innovative energy companies, but it’s name didn’t reflect it’s commitment to the development of low-carbon sources of energy. We created a new name: Equinor, ‘Equi’ for equilibrium and equality, and ‘Nor’ for Norway. We evolved their North Star logo and created an identity that gravitated towards it, including a custom typeface and a colour palette that pays homage to Norway and its natural beauty.
